Alm reappears in Lost Bloodlines 2, as the leader of a combined force of Archanean and Valentian characters completion of this chapter allows him to join the army as a playable unit. Later, Aversa again conned Old Hubba into giving her the Einherjar again, forcing Chrom and the Shepherds to face off against Alm and the other legendary heroes once again. His card was later stolen by Aversa and summoned to attack Chrom's and Celica's combined forces. In the Champions of Yore series, Old Hubba summoned him to assist Chrom in defeating an army of female heroes led by Celica. In the Outrealms, Alm is one of the Einherjar belonging to Old Hubba. The Falchion is one of only two ways to hurt and kill Duma when he is below 52 HP, and given Nosferatu's abysmal 50 hit, it is the most reliable way to do so. The Falchion is more powerful but less accurate than the Royal Sword, though it also provides healing. While 10 base defense may not be too terribly impressive, 16 strength is certainly worthwhile, and Alm will still grow strength a few times, increasing it further. Upon promotion, Alm gains the use of Bows, offering the ability to attack at range, but he will almost always be better off equipping the Royal Sword. Alm promotes towards the middle of Act 4, rather late as you will likely have promoted most other units twice, maybe with a few third-tier promotions. The Royal Sword provides a decent boost to his already decent strength and has very good hit and crit and heals 5 HP every turn, making it more useful than the Thunder Sword at this point. Alm is fast enough to double almost anything but mercenaries and their promotions, although the Thunder Sword will weigh him down enough to keep him from doubling some enemies in Act 1. He isn't lacking in any particular stat except his resistance, which will never increase without the use of equipment. He has solid bases, good growths by Gaiden standards, and unique access to two powerful weapons in the Royal Sword and the Falchion, and is the best, possibly only, user of the Lightning Sword when you get it.
